Four different types of wooden doors
The doors come in a wide variety of different styles, types and sizes. Many are designed primarily by appearance using different materials, period styles, surface finishes and colors. Others are designed for a specific purpose – external doors have to be theft-proof and the most affected by climate, interior doors and fire doors, for example. Most are of wood, but you can get the doors metal and plastic, too. Can also get doors that slide or fold.
Wooden doors
There are four common types of wood hinges door:
• Panel doors have a wooden frame enclosing a moderately important series of wood panels, plywood, glass
• Flush doors with a light wooden frame covered on both sides of a single skin of sheet material like plywood or wood.
• The doors have addressed a framework vertical wooden support boards, tongued and grooved
• door slats are inserted wooden structure with horizontal wooden slats spaced inclined to allow ventilation through the door.
Exterior doors should be made of materials capable of withstanding the ravages of the elements usually wood or exterior plywood. Interior doors are usually made from softwoods and less durable materials and hardboard, for example.
Fire the doors are built to withstand the effects of periods of half lire, one or two hours depending on where the door used. You may have to fit one to meet with the Building Regulations for example, if you build a garage to your house, any door between the house and garage must be at least half the fire resistance an hour. A fire resistant door must protect against smoke and check the movement of fire. The doors are known for their reaction to fire – a door or 30/20 30/30 door, for example. Fire resisting doors are often the doors flush with the plates before asbestos or cores, but today increasingly flaxboard or plywood cores. Should be fitted with fire-resisting frames and usually must be self-closing.
Panel doors
These doors have a wooden frame, usually of softwood, attaching one or more panels. Available in a wide range of styles, including traditional period designs y.
The framework consists of two styles that runs vertically to the door and two or more horizontal rails at the door. The uprights and rails are usually joined together with mortise and tenon joints, although there is a trend towards the replacement of them by pin joints. The inner edges are slotted structure to have the sides of the panels and can be decorated with a molding.
Glass panels are in sales and in place by wooden balls or putty well. Safety glass be used for large panes of glass.
Exterior door panels are often made of hardwood such as mahogany or sapele. This is naturally durable, and can be painted or treated with a creative woodslain ¬ Preserv. external softwood doors should be painted unless they are of High Quality wood to make varnish.
Panel styles of doors are wide (100 mm) for making locks, rails or the bottom center can be used to mount mailbox.
Some doors are flush to resemble door panels – have a molded cardboard to give the effect against wood paneling. They are usually suitable for indoor use only.
Flush doors
A door flush with the wood with a light frame covered on both sides with some kind of sheet material. A core can be used to increase stiffness of the two panels – called skins or linings and keep them separate. The frame is made of very small sections of wood, usually 38 x 38 mm, and is tested and fastened with glue and screws or staples corrugated cor ¬.
Many different types of coatings are used – from cheap hardboard sheets cut spending ¬ SIVE carefully selected by hand or plywood. Coatings can be unfinished, pre ¬ compared to painting, or covered with a sheet.
Outside grade and the interior (doors lush are available, and some come equipped with a glass panel.
To give a clean finish to the vertical edges of the door and to protect the edges of the panels, a narrow strip of wood is attached to the door by a tongue and groove, or by gluing and fastening. This is known as a ribbon. It is essential in exterior doors to prevent water from entering the walls and makes it easier to maintain a clear advantage when you have to plane a bit to make the adjustment of the door. At the Gates the strip of wood veneer is the same as the face plate.
As the wooden structure is often quite flimsy parts, extra wood has to be built at the door to the fixing of locks and latches. The extra material is called a blocking element. Some doors have lock blocks on each side, while others only have one-so you have to be careful when placing the door to make sure that fixing the hinges on the edge of the right door. New doors must have a seal on one edge with the location of the lock block. In some doors too lightly built, blocks are also offered to assist in setting the hinges, and exterior doors blocks and rails are wide for fixing mailboxes to know exactly where these are before you buy the door.
Boarding gates
There are two types common boarded door use today:
The Ledger and braced door is suitable for garden sheds and doors. It consists of a series of tables tied with protrusions on the back and prepared to avoid distortion.
The door frame, Ledger and a splint is used in situations where force is necessary, but the physical appearance of the door is not of primary importance garage doors, stormdoors, units and doors are some examples. The door of Con ¬ sists of a framework held together with mortise and tenon joints. diagonals are inserted into the framework to prevent sagging door and a tongue and groove panel extends from the top to the bottom of the door. The bottom rail is 30 to 40 mm above the bottom of the door to help make for easy assembly by an uneven terrain and to reduce the risk of being severely door weakened by rot. As these doors are usually made of softwood, to be painted periodically treated with a preservative or stain especially when the door used.
Lamas doors
A louvered door can be used when ¬ tilation are necessary through the door or decorative appearance such that wants.

Other types of door
Aluminum Glazing Doors are available for use as front, rear or side doors. Most are double glazed with obscure glass and fit into a standard wooden frame. Some have a center rail with a mailbox

Doors sliding can be done using the standard wooden door (usually those of color), equipped with sliding door gear
folding doors can be of two types: Folding, with two doors wide with an additional center hinge, and multiple times with a large number of narrow panels.

Painting wooden shelf?
I have an unfinished wooden shelf and would like it to be the stain with paint thinner latex. To make it look like a wash of milk. I do not want to have to buy more paint. Has anyone tried this?
it has worked well, but messy, make sure plenty of clean rags for cleaning.
